Note: Version Control is a Data I/O option for TaskLink™ and PSV7000 FlashCORE systems that allows creating Archived Jobs. For information on purchasing Version Control, contact your Data I/O Representative.
The Version Control option enables customers to create Archived Jobs to run on a PSV7000 system with repeatable results. With Version Control, customers can use the PSV7000 system to perform qualification of their programming process and then "lock down" that process to help ensure identical programming results in the future. The Version Control feature also can prevent Operators from running an Archived Job until its state is set to "Ready" by the Administrator. This allows the Administrator to qualify the Archived Job prior to it being used in production.
The Version Control option achieves version independence by creating an Archived copy of all files generated when the Job was run )and Archive copy of Job was selected). When this Archived Job is run at a later time, TaskLink compares components used when the Archived Job was created to components currently installed on the system. If mismatches exist, TaskLink restores the original version of the component if possible, or warns the Operator of the condition and allows canceling of the Job. The Administrator sets the validation rules performed by TaskLink and the warnings presented to the Operator.
Archived Jobs are typically created and tested with Administrator privileges set. Properties for an Archived Job can be viewed from either the Operator Dialog or the Task Manager dialog. Each time the Archived Job is run, the Session Log records hardware and software version information.
