How to Network-Configure TaskLink

Configuring TaskLink to communicate with networked Data I/O programmers involves setting the communication parameters and locating the networked programmers.

To configure TaskLink:

  1. Click System > Options > Communication.

  2. Enter the Programmer Port Number to use when locating programmers. (Check with your IS Department for this information.)

Note: Data I/O recommends Programmer Port Numbers in the range 1024 to 32767.

  1. In the Network Timeout field, specify how long to wait for a response from each programmer on the network.
  1. [Optional] For use when the PC running TaskLink has more than one network card installed:
In the IP of PC network card to use field, enter the IP address of the PC network card that is connected to the network on which the programmer communicates.
  2. In the Delay between download network packets field, enter the length of time (in microseconds) for the delay between packets as they download from the network to the programmer module. This delay helps alleviate "dropped buffer" errors typically encountered over a corporate network with heavy traffic.
Increasing this value will increase job download time. The ideal connection is over a private network.
