Setting Advanced Serialization Options

Adding a Task:
Task > Task Manager > Add > [type a name & OK] > Serialization Tab > Options

Editing a Task:
Task > Task Manager > [select a task] > Edit > Serialization Tab > Options

1. Set the Serial Number Address: Hexadecimal value indicating the device address of the serial number.
2. Set Serial Number Length: Number of bytes the serial number occupies in the device.
3. (Optional) Accept defaults or set options for:

• Serial Increment: Decimal value by which the serial number is incremented each time.

• Compensation Address: Hexadecimal value indicating the offset in the device at which the compensation value is to be located.

• Ethernet Mask: Hexadecimal value that indicates a fixed prefix value is to be placed in front of each generated serial number.

• Ethernet Mask Length: Specify the length of the Ethernet Mask value.

• Serial Byte Swap: Big Endian (Motorola): Most Significant Byte (MSB) at the first (lower) RAM address.

  Little Endian (Intel): Least Significant Byte (LSB) at the first (lower) RAM address.

• Serial Format:

  Binary:

  1 to 4 bytes in length. In Binary serial format, for example, serial number 1000 is written to RAM as: 00 00 03 E8.

  ASCII Decimal:

  1 to 10 bytes in length. In ASCII Decimal serial format, for example, serial number 1000 is written to RAM as: 49 48 48 48

  ASCII Hexadecimal:

  1 to 10 bytes in length. In ASCII Hexadecimal serial format, for example, serial number 1000 is written to RAM as: 31 30 30 30.

  Binary Coded Decimal:

  1 to 10 bytes in length. In Binary Coded Decimal serial format, for example, serial number 1000 is written to RAM as: 01 00 00 00

4. Click OK.
